Pinnacle and North Esports sign 18-month partnership
With cybersport set to grow significantly over the next decade, it seems everyone is investing in the segment, including betting agencies. The partnership comes at a time when e-sports gambling is attracting attention from developers and regulators. The UK Gambling Commission, the UK's regulatory body, has noted an increase in underage gambling activity but has refused to claim that loot boxes, an item found in games, are similar to gambling.
Meanwhile, Valve, makers of two popular rival products, Dota 2 and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, have urged rival teams not to sign up partnerships with betting agencies. This request has been largely ignored.

North continues the line of cyber sports betting partnerships
Nevertheless, the North seems to be optimistic about the partnership. Here's what Jonas Gundersen, chief operating officer of the cybersports team and company, had to say:

North is not new to working with bookmakers. The company previously worked with GG.BET is another well-known bookmaker, but since then the partnership has been severed in favor of Pinnacle.
Pinnacle also expressed satisfaction with the latest developments, saying the partnership was also a big breakthrough for the company. Here's what the company's sales director Marco Bloom said:
"This is a tremendous deal for us. We waited so long for the team partnership because we wanted to make sure we signed with an organization that matches our ambitions and desire to take the cyber sport to the next level. "
Mr. Blum added that in terms of cybersports teams, North was one of the best possible partners for the company to contract with as it "ticked all the boxes". Partnerships between cybersports teams and betting shops are nothing new.
